Fellowship in Learning
Curriculum on Spirituality, Leadership, and Justice
Grace Year is an experiential learning and professional development program. Of course, learning is integrated into every aspect of life in the fellowship, as we equip our fellows to be lifelong learners.
The bulk of the program is divided into four learning modules: spirituality, leadership, justice, and capstone projects. Each module involves independent and group study, reflection, site visits, workshops, and skill-building. Typically each Monday is a dedicated Study Day. Fellows meet challenging topics with passion and love. They make a commitment to centering truth and reconciliation as we study oppression, liberation, and our place in both. Reading, discerning, writing, and discussing are all part of the weekly rhythm of life at Grace Year.
The program is book-ended by one-week opening and closing sessions. Fellows are expected to be co-creators of their Grace Year. The program fosters leadership amongst fellows, and offers a highly responsive approach to programming.

Capstone Projects
Following the three modules on spirituality, leadership, and justice, we conclude with capstone projects. Capstone projects synthesize learning and growth from the many different aspects of the program: the life of the church, praxis positions, intentional living community, learning modules, spiritual discernment, and the intangibles that arise from such experiences transpiring in unison. Fellows have four weeks of unstructured time and a small budget to complete and publicly present a project that shares their experience with the wider community. A capstone project celebrates a fellow's accomplishment in their Grace Year and summarizes their Praxis Position.
