Partner sites
Each fellow is placed in a service position that they serve at for 4 days per week throughout the year. Site partners for these service positions include local nonprofit organizations, farms, and occasionally small businesses. The relationship Grace Year cultivates with site partners is crucial to the success of the program.
Placements
Some site partners that fellows have been paired with in the past include: Poughkeepsie Farm Project, Shady Knoll Orchard, Grace Immigrant Outreach (GIO), Cardinal Hayes Home for Children, the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, Millbrook at Home, EPIC, Institute for Rural Leadership, Hudson River Housing, Millbrook Community Preschool, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Curry & Miller, Church of the Messiah Rhinebeck ENL program. Site partners are subject to change each year due to a number of factors such as funding. For this reason, fellows do not always have control over their service work placement. This also means that sometimes your placement may change throughout the year. The GY Program Director and Staff will do their absolute best to pair you with service work that matches your interests and abilities.
Supervisors
Each fellow will have a supervisor at their respective service work position. This will be your go-to person for instruction and guidance. Fellows are expected to listen to their supervisor, and maintain clear and respectful communication with them. There is minimal to no hand-holding provided by the program staff.
