Apply
As an affiliate of Episcopal Service Corps, we use a common application. To complete the application, you will be asked to respond to questions about yourself, your experiences and your preferences. There are both long and short answer questions. Please take your time to answer completely and honestly. You will also need an uploadable version of your resume and 3 references. The form should take 45-60 minutes to complete.
You will be asked to identify 5 programs you feel called to join and to rank your top 3 preferences. If you haven't already, you may want to take the ESC Discernment Quiz to help discern which programs may be best suited to your service year interests. The application is designed to help you further discern which program might be a best fit for you. The interview process, which occurs after your submit your application, will provide you with additional information and dialogue partners for discernment.
Episcopal Service Corps values and celebrates diversity in all of God’s creation, strives to build programs reflective of Beloved Community, and commits to creating affirming space for all, particularly BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ persons. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender expression, gender identity, or ability.

Qualities we seek in applicants:
- Spirituality + Self-reflection: No matter how you identify or how spirituality features in your life, you're committed to religious pluralism and holistic approaches to social change. You value deep thinking, contemplative practices, and healing.
- Community + Leadership: Whether it's personal or collective, on a small or large scale, leadership is a theme in your life.
- Vocation + Justice: You may not know what you are called to do for the world, but you feel that you are called to contribute. You know about injustice, and you are committed to creating a just, equitable, and peaceful world. You're humble about the enormity of such a statement, but still find it invigorating and meaningful.
- Imagination + Dreams: You look beyond the dominant narratives. You seek alternatives and imagine new horizons for yourself and for the world.
- Goals + Courage: You set goals and courageously keep them over the long run. You are willing to take risks and make mistakes-- and admit when you do-- and you remember that it's all part of the journey.
- Hope + Kindness: Self-care and community-building are important. You seek kindness along the path to justice.
- Integrity + Responsibility: You consider the impact that your actions will have on those around you. You strive to act honestly, transparently, and accountably.
