Apply
We are accepting applications now for 2021-2022!
Admissions at Grace Year is a fascinating puzzle. At the individual level, we seek fellows who will both contribute to and receive from this opportunity. At the cohort level, we seek applicants who will form a cohesive group for mutual growth. We also look for high-quality applicants who will enrich the community and our site partners. All in all, the strength of an application is never determined by a single factor, but by holistically assessing the success that an applicant would have here as a Grace Year fellow.
Grace Year is a selective fellowship that attracts diverse applicants. Our application process models the pedagogy of the fellowship itself-- it is co-created by applicants, embraces the whole person, and employs various methods of communication and self-expression. You should expect to write, speak, and reflect during your application process, with additional opportunities to express yourself through non-traditional means.
If you'd like to discuss it with us, go ahead and set up an informational phone call.

Qualities we seek in applicants:
- Spirituality + Self-reflection: No matter how you identify or how spirituality features in your life, you're committed to religious pluralism and holistic approaches to social change. You value deep thinking, contemplative practices, and healing.
- Community + Leadership: Whether it's personal or collective, on a small or large scale, leadership is a theme in your life.
- Vocation + Justice: You may not know what you are called to do for the world, but you feel that you are called to contribute. You know about injustice, and you are committed to creating a just, equitable, and peaceful world. You're humble about the enormity of such a statement, but still find it invigorating and meaningful.
- Imagination + Dreams: You look beyond the dominant narratives. You seek alternatives and imagine new horizons for yourself and for the world.
- Goals + Courage: You set goals and courageously keep them over the long run. You are willing to take risks and make mistakes-- and admit when you do-- and you remember that it's all part of the journey.
- Hope + Kindness: Self-care and community-building are important. You seek kindness along the path to justice.
- Integrity + Responsibility: You consider the impact that your actions will have on those around you. You strive to act honestly, transparently, and accountably.
